Description
During a psychoanalytic session, a psychologist suggests her patient to go into a specialized clinic, but her suggestion unleashes mysterious fellow’s latent madness. Abandon is the key factor to understand his delirium, which will drive him to kill once more, as it already happened in the past with his first, lost love. So, after getting rid of psychologist’s body, he decides to carry on the “therapy” by himself, with the help of a small camera, recording his feelings in a crazy “crescendo”.
“LIKE A CHRYSALIS”, the original Italian title, is the metaphor the hero uses to describe his own transformation, the last metamorphosis in his life, which will carry him to become a ruthless punishing serial killer.
He, in fact, doesn’t choose his victims at random, but with a punctual reason, according to a wicked plan that takes root into the refusal of the society and its manifold contradictions. However, the chance encounter with Lisa, a girl who loves reading poetry in solitude, rouses inside the assassin the illusion it can still exist purity and love in his life.
Looking at SYMPHONY IN BLOOD RED’s crew is like reading a ”who-is-who“ of the Italian horror genre cinema.
Director LUIGI PASTORE has worked backstage and gained experience from his great mentor DARIO ARGENTO. Co-author and producer ANTONIO TENTORI also has worked with the greats of the Italian giallo-era, DARIO ARGENTO, LUCIO FULCI, JOE D’AMATO and BRUNO MATTEI. FX-Maestro SERGIO STIVALETTI created the special F/X and the former GOBLIN-leader CLAUDIO SIMONETTI personally composed the haunting score for this “wonderful hommage” (LUIGI COZZI) to the “mad” (LAMBERTO BAVA) Italian horror cinema!
