After a long stay abroad, Marc returns to Berlin to reunite with his wife, Anna, and son Bob. But he realizes very quickly that his wife has changed. He learns in particular that she has a lover, a certain Heinrich. Because of this, the couple’s relationship deteriorates rapidly. Marc then decides to hire a private detective to follow Anna, who is often absent from the home. One day when Marc picks up his boy from school, he realizes that the teacher is the spitting image of his wife. The detective, meanwhile, discovers with horror that Anna is having an affair with… a monstrous “thing”.
