Like the vicious BAISE-MOI, HARDCORE tells the tale of two abused women who take revenge on a world that has discarded them. Martha is a drug-addicted teenage prostitute resigned to her existence when strong-willed and confident Nadia enters the employ of her pimp. The two fall in love fairly quickly, and Martha is wrapped up in Nadia’s ambitious plans for fame and fortune. But when events conspire to keep them trapped in their current plight, their frustrations threaten to explode in an orgy of violence. HARDCORE is a Greek film that explores the underbelly of desperate criminality belied by the beautiful image of Athens.
