Content: The seemingly endless, dry expanse of the Australian outback: Jessica lives alone on her farm, which serves as a reserve for endangered animals. Nobody else far and wide. Until three bored, crazy kangaroo hunters with pimped up jeeps provoke them first with “pranks” and then hunt the animals. When Jessica intervenes, she too is declared fair game, incessantly humiliated and terrorized. A spiral of violence is developing and the attacks on the young woman are becoming more and more uninhibited. But with Jessica they have chosen the wrong victim, and the hunter and the hunted will soon switch roles …
“Fair Game” shines with a rapid narrative pace, an atmospherically dense staging in the Australian hinterland and great ingenuity, which results in some particularly drastic scenes. “Last House on the Left” in the “Wolf Creek” area. And not only because of the “Beast” – the jeep of the crazy tormentors – the viewer feels regularly reminded of the Aussie classic “Mad Max”. Fair Game is an underrated ozploitation gem with a fantastic synth score to rediscover!
