| Address Unknown (Tartan) (NTSC Region 1) |
Kim Ki Duk, the renowned director of 'The Isle,' has released another controversial film, which graphically depicts the lives of three less fortunate people, a half-American boy, a handicapped girl, and a heart broken boy. The young girl becomes romantically involved with an American soldier who promises to pay for an operation on her eye. The half-American boy is despised for his racial background, while his mother continues to write letters to her son's father in the U.S., despite they are all being returned stamped 'Address Unknown.' This film portrays the lives of a group of adolescents growing up adjacent to an U.S. military base and their struggle in coping with the continual legacy of the Korean War. This film has been selected as a candidate at the Venice International Film Festival in 2001.
