MAJIN: MONSTER OF TERROR - Majin (also known as DAIMAJIN) is a giant stone
idol who comes to life to protect villagers enslaved by evil rulers in 18th
Century feudal Japan. This film is the first of a trilogy inwhich all three
films were shot simultaneously by different directors then released to
theatres from 1966-1968. The special effects on these films are gorgeous,
and the entire viewing experience is enhanced by virtue of the films be
restored, letterboxed (full 'scope at 2.35:1), anamorphically enhanced and
subtitled so that they look absolutely stunning on these limited-edition
DVDs. This first film was directed by Kimiyoshi Aoyama of THE HUNDRED
MONSTERS fame. Highly recommended.
