A lost Gordon Liu film is finally found!
The eighties saw a tremendous popularity in kung fu films in Japan.
Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan and Jet Li brought popularity to “Shaolin” themed films and the Japanese wanted more.
The release of Shaw Bros. epic `36th Chamber of Shaolin' made Gordon Liu an instant star.
It wasn’t long before all his films were playing in Japan and soon after was approached to make a film.
Using the latest rage of `kung fu' and the `Mr. Vampire' themed films,`Shaolin vs. Vampire' is a unique feature in the martial arts movie history books.
Gordon Liu must use his skills to protect some baby vampires in Hong Kong.
Shot on location, the film features choreography from the `Lau Bros' team which consisted of Liu’s adopted brothers Liu Chia Liang and Liu Chia Wing plus members of the Shaw Bros. stunt team lending a hand.
Gordon would later make `Shaolin vs. Evil Dead' which can be considered the forerunner to this film.
