A Hatchet For The Honeymoon is a darkly comic, macabre thriller from
the great Italian director Mario Bava. John Harrington (Stephen Forsyth) is the
handsome and successful owner of a fashion salon specialising in designing
wedding gowns for the Parisian elite. Unhappily married to a constantly nagging
wife, Mildred (Laura Betti), he also happens to be a homicidal maniac with an
Oedipal complex and a habit of chopping up brides-to-be with a meat cleaver.
Each time he kills, John comes one step closer to coming to terms with a
traumatic event he witnessed as a child involving his mother. When his madness
finally drives him to kill his wife, he finds out the hard way that, even in
death, she has no intention of leaving him alone.
