Lukas Moodysson's Lilya 4-Ever is a shattering portrayal of the sassy,
mischievous Lilya (Oksana Akinshina) and her fight for survival after she is
abandoned by her mother. Left to fend for herself, she wards off the daily
struggle she faces by immersing herself in a freindship with the young Volodya (Artyom
Bogucharsky). With him, she is momentarily able to live the carefree life of a
child as the horrors of her poverty-strewn country close in around her...
