With his brother in law (Anthony Booth), he signs up a group called Kipper and progresses from gigs at the local pub, via a sequence of hairy one-night stands and encounters with an assortment of groupies and teeny-boppers (who are more interested in musicians than music), to score the most titivating hit of all time with the Climax Sisters at the London Palladium.
