Living illegally in Paris, with her brother, Tiresia is a beautiful Brazilian transsexual. Kidnapped by a poet obsessed with her beauty, he blinds her when her beauty fades when deprived of hormone treatment. Cared for by a young country girl, she develops a gift for premonition which brings the wrath of the local parish priest. Director Bertrand Bonello provide his own unique interpretation of a Greek myth and has two actors playing the leading role.
