KICHIKU - Like NEKROMANTIK before it, KICHIKU is an low-budget film that packs more of an impact that its budget would lead one to expect. Unlike NEKROMANTIK, KIKAJU packs a potent historical lesson on the impotence of the Japanese Left of the late-1960s/early-1970s. But this film is no didactic policitical diabtribe! Rather, it is the rare film that will leave gore fans startled and left with lingering feelings of discomfort. The story goes that a leader of the radical left is imprisoned by the State. In his former activist cell a power struggle ensues that ends in one of the most disturbing finals seen in recent years.
