Tomas Milian (ALMOST HUMAN, TRAIFFIC) stars as an embittered Interpol agent haunted by the slaying of his wife and relentlessly stalking the gang of bank robbers responsible. When shell casings from a daring daylight heist match slugs taken from the scene of his wife’s murder, Ravelli identifies the shooter as a French thug known as “Marseilles” (Gastone Moschin of THE GODFATHER: PT. II) and throws away his badge to exact his revenge. This obscure Italian crime film comes from the mind of Dardano Sacchetti, who contributed storylines for Dario Argento’s CAT O’NINE TAILS and Mario Bava’s TWITCH OF THE DEATH NERVE before collaborating most famously with Lucio Fulci on ZOMBIE, CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD, THE BEYOND and THE NEW YORK RIPPER. Shot by Sergio Rubini (A MAN CALLED MAGNUM), EMERGENCY SQUAD is vintage poliziotteschi with a classic score courtesy of Stelvio Cipriani and a cast that includes such Euro-cult familiars as Ray Lovelock (AUTOPSY), Stefania Casini (SUSPIRIA), Guido Leontini (THREE TOUGH GUYS) and Giuseppe Castellani (THE ITALIAN CONNECTION).
